Generally this will apply to walling and driveway paving but may apply to some paving ranges.
If you have any queries regarding this, please get in touch to discuss further prior to placing an order.

We will continue to update our Delivery Information page on other areas that be affected by delays as demand increases.

Will my natural stone paving look exactly like the online image? Why not request a sample tile of any paving slab you like before ordering to ensure you are happy with the colour? We can offer free samples of most of our products. Our manufacturers make every effort to produce images that give you as clear an idea as possible of the texture and colour of their garden paving, but we know it really helps to see a sample before making your decision. Samples can be with you in 3-4 days. Just phone our team or use chat to request your sample today.
How much paving do I need? All you need to know is the length and width of the area you want to cover and times them together and that is the area of paving you need to cover, we display the area each of our packs of paving will cover in meters squared (m2). Remember, you should also allow for wastage – so you can ensure you still have enough slabs available to complete your paving project if you drop one, or make a mistake when cutting. Any more queries? Give us a call on 01522 214353.
Will there be a colour variation in my paving? With natural stone paving, there is a possibility that there is a slight colour variant due to its mineral content or individual quarrying batch. We suggest you order enough paving for your project to avoid having to top up from another batch. It’s worth giving the slabs a quick wash to remove any dust and residue; this will reveal the precise colour of your paving.
How can I be sure I am getting decent quality natural stone paving? We suggest you look for two logos which guarantee the customer’s value for money. Marshalls' Stone Standard Exceeded and Fairstone assurances are independently audited to demonstrate their products’ quality and reliability against British Standards and manufacturing codes of practice.
Can we lay our paving in the rain? Yes! Using Weatherpoint 365 Jointing Compound, you can lay paving and complete jointing in the rain. Just make sure your foundations do not become too wet or the stability of your paving slabs could be affected.
How deep should the foundations be? Foundations for garden slabs need to be at least 150mm deep. If you are putting a patio next to your house, its surface must also be 150mm below the damp proof course.
What weight can stone slabs take? Our stone paving for domestic patios and paths is at least an essential 22mm thick which means it’ll cope with domestic use. For driveways and heavy use, you’ll need thicker natural stone driveway blocks or setts calibrated to 50mm.
Can I get jointing compounds coloured to match my slabs? Yes, Weatherpoint 365 is available in three colours; Buff, Stone Grey and Black. One of these should match your paving slabs closely or provide a pleasing contrast.
Will the colour of my paving slabs fade over time? All natural stone does fade very slightly over time due to the effect of sunlight and weathering.
Will anything stain stone slabs, e.g. fat and oil? Yes, some household and DIY products will stain your paving slabs. If you spill any fat or oil from a barbecue, for instance, it will soak into the stone and create areas of discolouration. The quicker you clean a spill the more likely it is that it will not make a permanent mark. Avoid using strong or undiluted acids directly on your slabs, as this will also cause discolouration and possibly long-term damage. For further information on any specific stains, call our helpful team on 01522 214353.
I have bought a Natural Stone Project Pack. Is there a set pattern for laying the paving? No. Each paving project pack comes with suggestions for laying patterns to use, but do give us a call on 01522 214353 and we’ll gladly help you find the best design for your project. You can also check out our blog post on paving laying patterns.
